JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - On Tuesday, a female victim contacted Jones County Sheriff's Deputies as she was transporting herself to South Central Regional Medical Center describing to them a domestic dispute.
The victim said she phoned her boyfriend, Lance Mason Ross, who she shares a home with in Laurel, and told him she'd be late coming home from work.
Ross proceeded to get angry and verbally abusive. The pair met back at their residence where the victim told Ross to get his belongings and leave.
The victim stated it was at this time Ross assaulted her violently by kicking and hitting her in the face, upper body, head, legs and thighs. The victim received numerous bruises and cuts and a broken ankle.
After retrieving the victim's statement at the hospital, Deputies then returned to the couple's home where Ross was arrested on charges of aggravated assault domestic and possession of marijuana.
Judge Howell Beech set Ross's bond at $10,000 for aggravated assault domestic and $500 for possession of marijuana.
