LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The American Heart Association along with South Central Regional Medical Center of Laurel, recognized Wednesday, November 5 2014 as National Eat Healthy Day. They were at the hospital encouraging the public to develop healthier eating habits. Eating those foods that are high in vitamins, minerals and fiber, and low in saturated fat and calories.
Americans typically only consume about half their recommended daily servings of fruit and vegetables. Most fruits and vegetables also have little or no sodium, and eating a variety of fruits and vegetables may help control your weight and blood pressure.
The American Heart Association is devoted to saving people from heart disease and stroke, which is among the leading cause of death in the United States.
