The Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg named their Humanitarians of the Year Monday morning.
This year sisters Priscilla Brown and Cynthia Young from the Field House for the Homeless were named co-recipients of the award. The Field House has been operating for a little over a year and in that time they have been able to help over 500-homeless people in several different ways like helping to find housing for them, help to get identification, and finding employment.
"I'm just so excited, this is just the beginning," said Priscilla Brown, Field House for the Homeless co-founder. "Doing God's Work is amazing and I'm going to continue being one of his servants."
"It's confirmation that when God gives vision there will be provision,"said Cynthia Young, co-founder. "We just thank God for everything he's doing for at the Field House and all of the people that he sent to be a part of the Field House."
For earning the award a deserving high school senior will receive a $500 scholarship and they will get $500 to go to a charitable organization of their choice.
