Skills USA Leadership Conference held at JCJC

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

 More than 300-high school and college students were at Jones County Junior College Monday for the Skills USA South Leadership Conference. 

The annual conference brings students and their advisers together from Meridian to the coast for leadership training. Skills USA is a career and technical student organization serving more then 300,000 students across the country. It's goals are to ensure the country has a skilled workforce.

"We have different speakers here today covering six-different topic areas from resume writing, social media, public speaking skills, and other areas, said Andy Sims, Skills USA State Director. "They take these skills to help build on their own skills to help them be better leaders for our employers and for today."

Keynote speaker was Dr. Dave Davies, Dean of the Southern Miss honors college.
