1 in custody, 1 sought in Wayne County murder

WAYNE COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

One person is in custody and another is being sought by authorities in connection to an Oct. 3rd Wayne County homicide.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Department Mississippi Bureau of Investigations and sheriff's deputies arrested Eric Lashawn Chambers in Hattiesburg for the murder of Michael C. Henderson. 

Henderson was found in early October along Winchester Road inside a vehicle and the case was ruled a homicide.

A murder warrant has been issued for Kijana Dmartez-Perrion Everett in connection with the crime.

Wayne County Justice Court Judge Jane Hutto denied bond for Chambers during his initial appearance.

According to a release from the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, investigator Kevin Stevens will present the case to the July 2015 Wayne County Grand Jury.

    The Carterville Baptist Church delayed their mission trip to Nicaragua after receiving an urgent phone call that the destination was no longer safe due to an unrest in the country. Pastor of Carterville Baptist Church and mission team lead Ben Skipper says the call came while members were waiting in line at the airport to receive their plane tickets.
