HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Administrators, staff and students at William Carey University gathered Friday morning on the Hattiesburg campus to break ground for a new men's residence hall.

The building will be connected to Davis Hall, a women's dormitory, by a shared a lobby.

It will cost about $4 million to construct the dormitory, and it will house 100 students.

"It reflects the growth of the university, but more than that, it reflects the trend on college campuses nationwide for students to want to live on campus," said Dr. Tommy King, president of William Carey University.

Construction should be finished by late July of 2015.
