The Southern Miss baseball and softball teams partnered up this evening to host Trick or Treat at The Pete.
"We're having a lot of fun, baseball and softball. We joined effort to bring this together along with Brent Jones, Kyle George and their staff with marketing and we're just proud everybody is coming out," said baseball head coach Scott Berry.
For the second consecutive year, kids, fans of the program and those wanting to showcase their costumes, participated in games and other Halloween-themed activities with the assistance of Golden Eagle players and coaches.
"I'm excited about it and I know our girls were excited about it too," said softball head coach Wendy Hogue. "I called Coach Berry and I said, 'Hey, I know this is something you guys do, it's kind of your thing, do you mind if we help out?' He said 'yeah, you know that old saying the more the merrier, well we say the more the scarier!'"
Berry added that both programs get as much out of the event as the children in attendance.
"Well, it means everything because I think it's part of the experience here when they are a student-athlete."
