Voters face Saturday deadline for voting absentee in-person

If you're voting absentee in next week's general election, you're facing a weekend deadline to cast your ballot in person.  Voters have until noon Saturday to do so.

Circuit clerk's offices across the state will open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday for last minute absentee voters.

Absentee ballots sent by mail must be received by circuit clerks no later than 5 p-m Monday.  And absentee ballots sent by military and overseas voters have to be in by 7 p.m. on election day.

"We would like very much to get our vote total up," said Delbert Hosemann, secretary of state. "We're electing all of our congressmen, one of our United States senators, so it's an important election," he said.

Hosemann was in Forrest County Thursday night for an informal gathering at Warren Paving.
