Mississippi post offices offer Breast Cancer Awareness stamps

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Approximately 400 post offices across the state of Mississippi are competing to sell breast cancer awareness stamps in an attempt to raise money to find a cure.

For the month of October, the extra eleven cents to buy the stamp will be donated to research.

Stamps can be bought individually for 60 cents or a sheet of 20 for $12.

"The stamp itself is 60 cents, which,  a normal first class stamp is 49 cents," said Postmaster Michelle Jordan of Hattiesburg. "So eleven cents goes to breast cancer research. It is a little bit more of a cost to the customer, but it is a tax write off for them and also its helping all Americans because remember, one in nine women will be impacted by some form of breast cancer.”
