Three vehicle accident in Ellisville injures three people

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

 Three-people were injured in a three-vehicle accident on Highway 11 in Ellisville Monday morning. 

The accident happened about 11:30 A.M. near the Jones County Junior College campus. An Ellisville Police Officer was directing traffic around an area where a reported gas leak was. The driver of a Cadillac Escalade stopped to ask the officer a question and was hit from behind by a Jeep. The force of the collision pushed the Escalade into the officers patrol car.

Three people were transported to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known.

    Hundreds of South Mississippians gathered in Marion County Saturday to raise money to help preserve one of the oldest and most historic homes in the Pine Belt.  The 5th annual Ford's Encampment in Sandy Hook brought in funds for the John Ford Home.  It was built in 1809 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is known as the oldest frontier-style home in the Pearl River Valley and is owned by the Marion County Historical Society.   ...
