City of Columbia to host 2nd Annual Veterans Picnic

COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from Columbia Local Veterans Groups

On Saturday, November 8th, 2014. Local Veterans Groups will present a "Veterans Picnic" in celebrating Veterans Day. The Public is invited. It will be held at the Columbia Water Park on Hwy 35N. The opening ceremony will start at 11am with several guest speakers. The picnic will be from 11am to 3pm. This year we will have a 5K run/walk starting at 9am, sign-in starts at 8am. Those that pre-register will receive a tee shirt. Food & drinks will be available. A inflatable Jumper & Slide will be there for the children, National Guard static displays, and BB gun target practice. All proceeds will go to the "Wounded Minutemen" of Mississippi. There are many wounded Veterans back from Iraq & Afghanistan living with a lifetime of expensive medical care. Please come on out and show your support.
