1 in custody, 1 hospitalized after Hattiesburg shooting

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

One person is in custody and another is being treated for his injures at a local hospital after a Saturday afternoon shooting in Hattiesburg.

Roddrick Green was taken into custody shortly after Hattiesburg police responded to a report of shots fired in the 900 block of Dabbs Street shortly before 2:00 p.m. 

According to Hattiesburg Police PIO Lt. Jon Traxler when officers arrived, they found a male laying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital by AAA Ambulance, where he is listed in stable condition at this time.

Green was transported to the Hattiesburg Police Department for questioning in connection to the crime. He has not been charged or booked in to the Forrest County Jail at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time and more details will be released when they become available.
