Quentis Jones

Quentis Jones was born and raised in Heidelberg, MS, and is one of three siblings. Quentis' love for journalism began in high school as Editor in Chief for the Oiler's Time newspaper. He later graduated from William Carey with a B.S. in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Electronic Media and News Production and a minor in Computer Information System. While at Carey, he was a staff writer for "The Cobbler" newspaper.

While in college, Quentis interned at WLBT and FOX 40 News in Jackson, MS. His first job in television was at WLOX-TV in Biloxi, MS where he served as news content specialist. Nearly a year later, Quentis joined the WDAM-TV news team where he works as News Reporter and Production Assistant. He also has a weekly live segment called "safety alerts" that air Friday mornings on News 7 Sunrise.

Quentis hopes his time as journalist will help give a "voice to the voiceless" and help bring clarity to issues facing our community. He says, "I want to serve the viewers of the Pinebelt with compassion, dignity, and pride."

When Quentis is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and playing the piano.
