Cuco's shooting suspect pleads guilty

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Hattiesburg man charged with five counts of aggravated assault after a mass shooting at a local restaurant entered a guilty plea Tuesday morning.

Scott Tyner, 46, appeared before specially appointed Judge Breland Hilburn in Forrest County Circuit Court at 11:00 a.m. to enter his blind plea, which was guilty on all counts.

Tyner was accused of shooting five people at Cuco's restaurant in Hattiesburg in April 2012.

A previous mental evaluation was given, and Tyner did pass the forensic evaluation.

Tyner previously pleaded not guilty to five counts of aggravated assault.

Judge Hilburn set Tyner's sentencing date at Nov. 7th at 11:00 a.m.
