Salvation Army Angel Tree Program begins

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Salvation Army has collected over 600 names of children from the area that are in need of adopting from their Angel Tree program. This helps needy families during the holidays with food and toys. Patricia Carter, the Angel Tree Coordinator says that with these adoptions, it helps them supply these families and children with the Christmas cheer that the season is all about.

“It is so important, we have so many mothers and dads, economy is really, really bad and they come to us because this is the only place they can come to and get help with the angels.” said Carter, “To the children it means everything in the world because without this, somebody may not have a Christmas.”

The Angel Tree will be located inside the Turtle Creek Mall and will be ready for adoptions on November 7th.
