Forrest County February shooting death still under investigation

FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

The case involving a Forrest County man involved in a February 2014 shooting death is still under investigation.

Ronnie Pittman was taken into custody in connection with the shooting that took the life of Jack Dean Burns Jr. at 4 Eastover Boulevard in Forrest County. According to investigators with the Forrest County Sheriff's Department Pittman was questioned, a statement was given and self defense is believed to be the outcome of the altercation. Pittman was released after questioning.

Investigators stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that the case will be turned over to the district attorney's office and presented to the grand jury for a final decision to be made.
