Stolen flamingo's mate dies of injuries, broken heart

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - According to a Facebook post issued by the Hattiesburg Zoo, a second flamingo has died in connection to the incident of a stolen flamingo early Tuesday morning.

Wednesday evening, the zoo reported a male flamingo acting depressed and lethargic, leading them to believe he was the deceased flamingo's mate. 

Zoo officials stated in the post that he died Wednesday night from injuries he sustained defending his mate.
