LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - A Laurel man who was previously charged with two counts of murder in January was back behind bars this past week for heroin.
Maurice Jones was arrested during a sweep by the Laurel Police Department's Narcotics Division. He was charged with sale of heroin and his bond was set at $50,000.
Jones was released from jail in July after the grand jury returned no true bills for murder against him. The no true bill was based on the fact that the only alleged eye witness to the crime had recanted her story.
