Laurel celebrates sawmill heritage at Loblolly Festival

Laurel welcomed thousands of visitors Saturday for the annual Loblolly Festival. Laurel welcomed thousands of visitors Saturday for the annual Loblolly Festival.
Thousands of people took advantage of the best weather in South Mississippi in months Saturday to visit downtown Laurel for an old-fashioned good time.

They shopped, ate various foods, listened to live music and participated in other activities during the annual Loblolly Festival.

The event focuses attention on the downtown business community and celebrates Laurel's heritage as a sawmill town.

About 120 vendors were on hand, selling food, clothing, gifts and other items.
