HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - This past Sunday was National Good Neighbor Day.
I started celebrating early last Friday by asking my good neighbor Jim to give me a lift to pick up my car from the shop.
Without hesitation, he replied "sure just tell me when you're ready".
It reminded me how comforting it is to have good neighbors.
They are not just there to borrow a cup of sugar or a couple of eggs or to get your mail when you are out of town.
Good neighbors watch out for one another.
National Good Neighbor Day probably passed without much notice for most of us.
But isn't much better for all of us to remember that what truly counts is how we treat one another every day.
So the next time you are taking the trash out or walking the dog, take the time to say hello and get to know your neighbors.
You never know when we might need one another.
This is today's viewpoint.
