Friends, co-workers bid farewell to retiring Forrest County employee

FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - After 41-years of service to Forrest County, a long time employee who worked for the road department is retiring.

Harold Craft, 67 started with the county in 1973. He worked in a lot of different capacities over the years including operator, mechanic, and was foreman for a time at the County Barn in Dixie.

Tuesday county officials, co-workers, and friends celebrated Craft's retirement by holding a luncheon for him at the District One Barn.

"He worked for three different supervisors, Mr. Bill Sigler, Mr. David Allen, and myself," said David Hogan, Board of Supervisors President. "We really appreciate his years of service and the county is better off for having him serve."

Craft says he plans to go fishing and do a little hunting in retirement.
