Ellisville shooting suspect in custody, wanted in several counties

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

A man allegedly involved in an early Tuesday morning shooting in Ellisville has been arrested and is facing various charges.

Bobby Don Wells was arrested in D'Iberville a little before noon Tuesday. He was taken into custody by Biloxi Police, D'Iberville Police and U.S. Marshals.

According to Ellisville Police, they received a call around 7 a.m. in regards to a shooting at Ellisville Apartments. Upon arrival, police found out that the shooter had fled the scene. The victim who was shot identified Wells as the shooting suspect.

The victim has been identified as Jason Reid, who was taken to a nearby hospital and according to police is in stable condition. Investigator Christy Carona said the victim was shot in his arm and his side with what is believed to be a SKS rifle.

The Jones County Sheriff's Department and the Ellisville Police Department have a hold on Wells.

Both Jones County and Jackson County Sheriff's Departments had been looking for Wells for several months. He is wanted in connection with the burglary and larceny of a wrecker shop in Pascagoula. Jones County investigator Thad Windham said Wells stole a wrecker, a Chevrolet pick-up, a zero-turn lawnmower and numerous car parts from the business and sold various car parts at a local scrap yard.
