HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Three festivals will take place in Hattiesburg this weekend, offering a variety of food, entertainment, and more.
The 9th annual Historic Mobile Street Renaissance Festival will run from Friday evening through Sunday evening.
It will feature craft and food booths, a rhythm and blues stage, and various children's activities.
The Sho' Nuff Barbeque Cook-off will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Barbeque connoisseurs can also attend the Downtown BBQ Showdown at Walthall Park from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
This year the event is sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society and competitors from Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama will face off for prizes.
The Keg and Barrel will also serve barbeque and sides.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for kids.
A portion of the proceeds will go toward the downtown beautification project.
Local musicians will also play throughout the day.
If you prefer authentic German food, then Oktoberfest will be the place to visit on Saturday.
St. John Lutheran Church will host the annual event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
$10 will purchase a Superbrat Plate that includes two pieces of bratwurst, sauerkraut, potato salad, bread, and iced tea.
Beer and dessert will be available as well.
Entertainment will be provided by the Oom-Pah Band and Accordion Combo along with a craft room and quilt raffle.
Proceeds benefit local missions and aid in Uganda.
Hattiesburg will be busy this weekend with something for everyone to enjoy.
