Perry Central and North Forrest were locked in a tight battle Friday night. That is when many folks, if they had not already, learned Ashanta Bolton's name.
The senior quarterback of the Bulldogs accounted for five total touchdowns in the 38-24 win over the Eagles. Bolton rushed for two scores, threw for two more, and even returned a kickoff for a touchdown. However, the humble senior knows it was not without plenty of help. "It's not all for me, it's for us. We're a team we work together and we're a unit."
After such a big performance from his senior signal caller, Perry Central head coach Todd Lowery was excited about Bolton's performance. "You just kind of swell up with pride watching him Friday night," Lowery said. But he added, Bolton puts in the work during the week. " The way he's performed in practice, he's been a committed, all in guy for us. It's just been real special being able to coach a kid like that."
Perry Central moved to 3-2 on the year with the win.
