Cash reward offered for tips in Forrest County break-in case

FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from Metro Crime Stoppers

Metro Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for tips leading to an arrest(s) in a recent burglary at the Glendale Pawn Shop on Glendale Avenue in Hattiesburg.  Burglars broke in the business and stole 10 handguns and 11 shotguns and rifles.  Investigator Nick Calico says the crime occurred on 8 September 2013 at 10:00p.m.  The case is under investigation by the Forrest County Sheriff's Department.

The Sheriff's Department recovered two shirts as evidence that were apparently worn by the suspects, and then left by the suspects at the scene of the crime.  It is believed that the burglars left the scene, one suspect wearing a red t-shirt and the other suspect wearing an orange t-shirt.  The suspects left the scene in a white vehicle with primer paint the door or on the hood of the get away vehicle.

"Someone knows who did this.  Give us a call at Metro Crime Stoppers and you'll get cash if your confidential tip leads to an arrest." says Diane James, Coordinator for Metro Crime Stoppers.

"This crime has hurt a local business and I believe the public can help deputies recovered these stolen guns and get them off the streets." says James.

Point of  contact for all interviews about the burglary is Forrest County Sheriff Billy McGee.  He can be reached at 601-544-7800.
