Tickets on sale for PRCC homecoming luncheon, game

POPLARVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

POPLARVILLE - Tickets are available for the Homecoming Alumni Luncheon at Pearl River Community College.

The luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, in Olivia Bender Cafeteria. Tickets are $20 by Oct. 6; $25 after Oct. 6. They can be purchased by credit card at 601 403-1183.

Other homecoming activities include Sports Hall of Fame induction at 8:45 a.m., rededication of White Coliseum at 10 a.m. and dedication of the Dr. Thomas J. and Patricia Malone Honors Institute Library at 11 a.m.

A free tailgating carnival will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on the football practice field across from Dobie Holden Stadium. Food will be available for purchase.

Tickets to the 2 p.m. football game against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College are $15 for reserved chair back seats, $10 general admission and $5 students. They can be purchased in advance by calling 601 403-1179.

Homecoming queen Larke Bickham of Poplarville and her court will be presented at half-time.

    As a freshman quarterback playing behind one of the best athletes to come through Columbia Academy in recent years, Thomas Erastus “Ras” Pace got his first career start in what was arguably the Cougars’ biggest game of the 2016 season. “I thought I did a pretty good job handing the ball off,” said Pace of his starting debut in a second-round MAIS AAA playoff game in place of the inured Wiley Cleland.
