HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Thanks to a large grant from Pet Smart Charities, the Southern Pines Spay and Neuter Clinic is able to offer free spay or neuter surgery to both cats and dogs for some Hattiesburg Pets.
The grant is for $100,000 and it will enable the clinic to perform the surgery on more than 1600 pets. This is the second time the clinic has received the spay and neuter grant. Last year they were able to fix more than 1800 pets from central Hattiesburg.
This particular part of Hattiesburg is targeted because the city is a large source of unwanted pets that end up at the shelter. The targeted area is from the Bouie River to West 40th Street and from the sewage lagoon to Richburg Road and WSF Tatum Blvd.
If unsure if you are eligible, contact the Spay and Neuter Clinic at 601-544-5678.
