Accident stalls traffic on Highway 49

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Traffic is delayed after an accident on Highway 49 North Friday morning.

A Dodge Charger was traveling on Hwy 49 N when a double-wide trailer on wheels pulled out in front of the Charger.

The driver of the Charger was injured but, she is in stable condition, according to the victim's husband.

State troopers, firefighters and first responders were at the scene.  

Highway Patrol urges motorists to use caution when traveling this area.

    Southern Miss baseball will be missing four key contributors when the its season opens against Mississippi State on February 16. Hayden Roberts, Taylor Braley, Kirk McCarty and Dylan Burdeaux wrapped up their first minor league seasons in the fall. Roberts, a 34th round MLB draftee of the Colorado Rockies, struck out 45 batters in 21 games with the Grand Junction Rockies.
