HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Piney Woods Picnic music festival is being held at Pep's Point Waterpark Sept. 12-14.
Festival coordinators said they expect this music festival to go off without a hitch.
"We want to do something for Americana music," said Tom White, event coordinator.
White said, "We also want to do something for the preservation of the Bouie Leaf River System. They're tributaries to the Pascagoula River, and it's the largest unimpeded river way in the lower 48 states."
The event is focused on music, fun and eco-tourism.
"We want to not only raise awareness of the music in the area but also the Bouie River System," White said.
Everyone are encouraged to camp out and participate in the 5k fun-run.
Kids under 12 get in free.
