Laurel Police seek public help in finding two men

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

The Laurel Police Department needs the public's help in locating two men.

The first case involves a robbery that happened Friday morning at a local grocery store on Highway 15 North, the victim, a 75-year-old woman.

"The victim stated that she was in the parking lot of Grocery Depot when she was approached by a slender build black male whom she described to be approximately five foot nine," said Laurel Police Department Captain Jerome Jackson.

Footage from the grocery's store security cameras show the suspect wearing a gray T-shirt and blue jeans. While the woman was loading groceries in her vehicle, the suspect approached her car, snatched her wallet from her purse and ran.

The only available image of the robbery suspect is a still image from the security camera.

The second case involves a shooting that happened Saturday morning. Police responded to the emergency room of South Central Regional Medical Center in regards to a shooting victim.

"The victim stated that at 39 Marie Drive in Laurel an altercation had taken place between two black males," said Captain Jackson. "As a result of the altercation the victim was shot once after gunshots were exchanged."

The victim was later treated and released. Police said she was able to identify the man that shot her.

"She described him as being a Jeremy Bowling, approximately thirty-years-old, he's a residence of Laurel," said Captain Jackson.

If you have any information on these two individuals you are asked to contact the Laurel Police Department.
