Jones County Assistant District Attorney position filled
JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -
Less than a week since J. Ronald Parrish's resignation and the position for Jones County Assistant District Attorney has now been filled.
District Attorney Tony Buckley announced the counties new prosecutor on Tuesday. Kristen Martin will now be handling some of the criminal cases. Martin was previously Judge Billy Joe Landrum's staff attorney for nearly 8 years. She said she's excited about her new position and said it's something she's always wanted to do.
“I don't believe that I can ever fill J. Ronald's shoes because he is his own person,” said Martin. “I believe that we'll bring some of the same things to the table, but I would not dare try to take his place.”
Martin grew up in Jones County and practiced law in Laurel for 6 years.
