SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Nicholas Mills, a Marine stationed on Parris Island was determined to find a way to help wounded veterans while bringing youth in the area together for some fun. This lead Mills to start a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project at Woody's Skate Park in Savannah.

Mills paired up with friend Tim Barclay, a manufacturer of skate boards pressed from scratch willing to use his services for a good cause.

The event held on Saturday from noon until 5 p.m. involved many young people who Nicholas Mills wants to become invested in charities by having fun giving back.

Mills said he chose Wounded Warrior Project as the benefit for this event because he has seen first-hand what they do to help people.

All the proceeds from selling skateboards and T-shirts went to the wounded warrior project and Mills plants to put on more events like this one.
