Camilla police investigating Friday night shooting

CAMILLA, GA (WALB) - Camilla police are investigating a shooting that happened Friday night.

Police say 34-year-old  Atorial Wimberly of Camilla was shot in the abdomen around 11:34 p.m.  It happened at North Scott Street. Wimberly was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial in Albany.


Petyton Marshburn , 20, of Thomasville is accused of shooting Wimberly with a handgun. He is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm in commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a handgun by a minor.

Seventeen-year-old Joe Bundrick of Cooliage is believed to have been present at the incident. Bundrick is charged with aggravated assault.

Both Bundrick and Marshburn are in the Mitchell county jail.

Police believe the shooting began with an altercation.  No other information has been released at this time.
