Hotel could bring more than 20 jobs

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Another new hotel is coming to northwest Albany near where one hotel is under construction and another recently opened.

City commissioners approved a rezoning request to allow developers to build an 80-room Marriott brand hotel on Kensington Lane. It will employ about 25-people. Peach State Hospitality out of Warner Robbins, Ga has to send in site and building plans to the city. They plan to start construction in the next 8 months.

The city will not permit any access to the 4-acre site from Old Dawson Road and will require the developer to put up screening and buffering between the hotel and residential property.
