Petal outlasts Hattiesburg in a thriller, 48-44

The following is a recap of the highlights of the game between Hattiesburg and Petal as they were read on air.

Hattiesburg has lost their last six games to Petal, the Tigers trying to change their fortunes tonight.

Early on not doing a good job. Panthers running back Darren Ross receives the handoff from his QB and look out below.

Ross breaks it out to the left and hustles the rest of the way on this 53-yard touchdown run.

Tigers head coach Tony Vance not happy, but his offense responds in a hurry.

Quick pass to Josh Murphy off the play-fake from Julian Conner, Murphy puts a move on the safety and he's going all the way.

But hold on to everything folks, the Hattiesburg celebration is short lived.

Touchdown called back for an illegal man down field.

Coach Vance wants an explanation from the refs, but either way the Tigers able to move the ball down field on the next drive as Xavier Yancy scores on this four yard run. Tigers miss the PAT.

14-6 game in Petal's favor when Hattiesburg holds an ice bucket challenge with about 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

Delays the game about 15 minutes as both team wait for the ice to be cleared off the field.

But after a Tigers turnover, the Panthers capitalize when Sam Hopper lofts one up to Ty'kwan Bridges to make it a 21-6 game.

Hattiesburg pulls within four, but Petal comes away with the 48-44 win.
