HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from the Mississippi Department of Transportation

The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) is nearing completion of a repair project involving damage that was caused when a semi-trailer carrying a tractor collided with the Interstate 59 overpass bridge over U.S. Highway 49 (near Exit 67) in Hattiesburg July 14th.

The $167,000 repair project was awarded to Key, LLC of Madison, MS.  Crews replaced a 12 x 9 ft. portion of the bridge and outside railing, along with reinforcements.
