JCJC alumnus reveals gift to his wife and college

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

A Jones County Junior College alumnus revealed a gift to his wife and to the college, in the form of a plaza park, complete with swings, benches, flowers and plants.

Sidney "Buck" Anderson said the Libby Anderson Plaza Park was given to the college as an outward expression of his love and appreciation for his wife, Libby, who has supported him in their marriage of more than fifty-years. His hopes are that the students at JCJC will use the plaza to sit and reflect upon their own life, classes and each other.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday morning, August 22 on the campus of JCJC, across from Anderson Hall, which is named in honor of Mr. Anderson. At the event, a bronze plaque was unveiled. The plaque depicted an image of Libby Anderson and inscribed with a love letter that Buck had once sent her years before.
