CSpire hopes to open doors to faster Internet for Hattiesburg homes

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The City of Hattiesburg has applied and been chosen to be a fiber to home city with C-Spire.

C-Spire plans to bring ultra fast broadband Internet, television, and home phone services to Hattiesburg homes.

Before installation can begin a portion of certain neighborhoods must pre-register for the service.

C-Spire has divided the city of Hatiesburg into 13 "fiberhoods," which are: Aracadia-Jamestown, Timberton, Richburg, Country Club, Pinehills-Audubon, Lamar Park, Kamper-Oaks-Parkhaven, Turtle Creek-Shadow Ridge, Grace-Mobile-North Main, Highlands, Palmers, Historic Downtown, and University.

The company is saying that the Internet will be about 100 times faster than anything else currently on the market. C spire fiberhood pre-registration is open. Residents are required to make a ten dollar refundable deposit and indicate their interest for specific services. Registration on C-Spires web site will close at the end of the year.
