A two-vehicle accident in the Rustin community of Jones County sent one driver to the hospital, Thursday morning, August 21.
At 6:15 a.m. rescue units from Rustin Volunteer Fire Department responded to the intersection of Jesse Byrd Road and Sandersville Pleasant Grove Road.
According to officials on scene, the crash occurred when a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck apparently pulled out onto Sandersville Pleasant Grove Road, from Jesse Byrd Road, in the path of a white Ford F-150, which was traveling east on Sandersville Pleasant Grove Road.
The male driver of the Chevrolet Colorado was transported to South Central Regional Medical Center by EMServ ambulance service with what was believed to be minor and non-life threatening injuries. The male driver of the Ford F-150 was uninjured and refused transportation to the hospital.
The accident remains under investigation by the Jones County Sheriff's Department.
