Jones County sheriff takes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -
Jones County Sheriff Alex Hodge took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Wednesday after he was nominated by Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel.
Major Randy Johnson and Major Jamie Tedford poured two coolers filled with ice water on the sheriff.
“I've decided to nominate Superintendent of Education Tommy Parker, Superintendent of Laurel City Schools Dr. Chuck Benigno and City of Laurel Mayor Johnny Magee because again this is about bringing awareness and I feel like those agencies will get behind this and help bring support and funding to ALS, which we know affects a lot of people across our country,” said Sheriff Hodge.
Mayor Johnny Magee has accepted the challenge and will be drenched in cold water Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Laurel High School football stadium. Dr. Benigno is out of town, but has accepted the challenge and will be soaked in water Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the stadium as well.
