JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Tuesday night will be a night of food and fundraising as a celebrity chef brings her "Culanthropy" to town to help some aspiring students.

Cat Cora from Food Network's Iron Chef America visited UMMC's Nursing school Monday. The Jackson native's mother and grandmother were both nurses. Now, she's joining forces with eight area chefs Tuesday night to help raise money for UMMC School of Nursing Scholarships.

Cora says she can't think of another place that deserves recognition and help.

"UMMC has been so great to our family not only my mom's long career here but also my dad had cancer," said Cora. "They were a huge support for us going through that battle with him."

If you want to support future nurses, you can. Cora's culinary event is Tuesday night starting from 6:30 until 8:30 at Table 100 in Flowood.

Tickets are $150 for singles and $250 for couples. Eight chefs from around the metro will serve tapas style dishes during the event.
