Police: Woman stalked man, threatened his life

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville woman has been arrested on several outstanding warrants charging her with stalking a man and making threats against his life.

The first incident happened on Feb. 25 when police say Tiawana Dawson, 22, came to the hospital room of the man in violation of a domestic violence order. The arrest warrant says Dawson threatened to fill a syringe with insulin and and put it in the man's IV. According to the warrant, Dawson said no one would know what happened because he doesn't take his diabetes medication.

On Mar. 26, Dawson is accused of again violating the DVO when she went to the man's home, beat on the door and demanded her clothes. Dawson ignored demands by the man to leave his property, but she fled before police arrived.

On June 22, a third warrant says Dawson was sitting in the man's car and called to tell him so. She took the cover plate from the car stereo and told him he wasn't going to listen to music. The warrant also says Dawson sent the man 20 text messages over an eight day period in early July. the man also had nearly 80 blocked calls made by Dawson to his phone.

Dawson was arrested Aug. 13 in the Portland neighborhood. She is charged with two counts of violating an EPO or DVO, plus one count each of stalking and terroristic threatening,

    The University of Southern Mississippi ended Saturday’s regular-season baseball finale at Marshall University the same way it started, with a bang. The 18th-ranked Golden Eagles sent 13 batters to the plate in both the second and ninth innings, scoring eight runs in each, as USM finished off a first-ever sweep of the Thundering Herd on its home turf with a 18-9 victory at Epling Stadium.

    A man is recovering from injuries after he claims he was beaten by officers with the Laurel Police Department. Thirty-six-year-old James Barnett indicated the incident took place on Tuesday, May 15.
