MILLBROOK, AL (WSFA) -

The Millbrook Police Department says one suspect is in custody and a second is being sought following the burglary of a home on the Deatsville Highway back on August 11.

Sylvester Nolan, Jr., 27, of Millbrook, was taken into custody and charged with third degree burglary and 2nd degree theft of property after investigators were called to a possible burglary in progress report around 2 p.m. Monday.

After responding to the scene, investigators moved quickly to coordinated an effort to apprehend the suspects. Descriptions on both suspects and a vehicle were obtained.

Officers stopped a vehicle not far from the residence and took Nolan into custody. Inside the car, detectives found property stolen from the house adjacent to the one reported in the burglary call.

Officers identified the second suspect as Howard Tirong Todd IV, 18, also of Millbrook. When captured, he'll face the same charges as Nolan.

"Sadly, our officers are familiar with both of these individuals from multiple cases involving similar offenses," said Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson. "Hopefully we can keep them off the streets should they be convicted in this case."

Nolan is being held in the Elmore County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

"I would strongly suggest that Mr. Todd turn himself into our detectives," Chief Johnson said, "and ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts contact our detectives at 285-6832 or they can call our Secrete Witness Line at 285-8500.
