WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) -

CrimeStoppers says community response within minutes of publicizing their plea has helped them identify and arrest the suspect who robbed the CVS in Wetumpka back on Saturday, August 9.

Wetumpka police and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers say the suspect is Kenneth Wayne Adair, 51, and was arrested on August 15 at which time he was charged with first degree robbery, reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and attempting to elude law enforcement.

Adair acted as if he were shopping by picking up a soft drink and a canister of men's deodorant. The then revealed his true intent, authorities say, as he approached the clerk, pulled up his shirt, explained that he had a gun and wanted the money in the register.

Authorities say the clerk yelled and the suspect fled the store. No injuries were reported
