Silent auction to benefit Field House for the Homeless

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A silent auction will be held Thursday evening to benefit the Field House for the Homeless in Hattiesburg.

The auction will take place at Brewsky's on West 4th Street in Hattiesburg from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. It's being put on by Building Toward Home, a service group for the Area Development Partnership Leadership Pine Belt Class 2014. Building Toward Home has put on several events to raise money to help the homeless in the community. All proceeds from the auction will go toward construction projects at the Field House.

"We will have a lot of different items available in the auction," said Terrel Grindle, Building Toward Home Group. "We will have Mississippi State and USM football game tickets, New Orleans Saints tickets. We will have a Gulf Shores condo rental, gift certificates from numerous businesses and places."

Besides the silent auction, the event will feature live music by Alan Mann and hors d'oeuvres. Cost for admission is $5.
