MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Former Greensboro High School principal Dyana Thomas will face ethics charges, according to District Attorney Michael Jackson.

The district attorney says an investigation by the Alabama Ethics Commission showed evidence that Thomas may have used his position at the Hale County school for personal gain. Details about the allegations were not released.

Thomas is also a former principal at Wilcox County Central High School, Greene County High School, Choctaw County High School and once served as a board member of the Sumter County School System where he most recently also ran for a county commission seat.

This is not the first time Thomas has faced trouble in regards to a school system.

According to reports from the Tuscaloosa News, in 2007 Thomas was convicted and sentenced to 5 years of probation for mail fraud while at Choctaw County H.S.

The new case is being turned over D.A. Jackson's office for prosecution.
