HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - This week is National Health Center Week. Free screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, and HIV tests will be offered to the public completely free of charge. Prostate and breast exams and dental screenings will be available at no cost as well. Clinics across the Pine Belt are participating in the Southeast Mississippi Rural Health Initiative to ensure that everyone receives the care they need.
"It's just a way to give back to the community to show them our appreciation, to show them that we care and that we can provide that affordable quality health care for them," said Meghan Burk, marketing specialist for Southeast Mississippi Rural Health Initiative.
Participating clinics can be found in Hattiesburg, Sumrall, Seminary, Lumberton, and Brooklyn to name a few. To find a clinic near you, call 601-545-8700, or visit their website here.
