Clarke County Sheriff's Department searching for stolen drill truck

On Monday, authorities from the Clarke County Sheriff's Department responded to a call about a stolen drill-truck being used at Johnson Sand and Gravel in the Vossburg community of southern Clarke county.  Investigators believe the vehicle had been stolen during the weekend of August 2-3, 2014.

The equipment on the truck was being used at the plant to drill down into the ground to find quality gravel veins used in road construction. Authorities believe the vehicle and drill may be located in the Wayne, Jones, Jasper or Clarke county area.

Clarke County Sheriff, Todd Kemp says that this isn't your average looking vehicle.

"This is a very unique type truck," he said "It's not common to see this sort of vehicle driving down the highway and we're asking the public to call if they see or have any information as to where this vehicle is at."

Sheriff Kemp also says the thieves took around 100 gallons of diesel in the burglary. There is a $1,000 reward offered for information leading to the drill truck's whereabouts.

Anyone with information can call the Clarke County Sheriff's Department at, 601-776-5252 or they can call Crimestoppers at, 855-485-8477.
