Editorials: "Lost But Not Forgotten"

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

On Wednesday toxicology reports were released following the crash that claimed the lives of two young men, one being Auburn football standout Philip Lutzenkirchen. The report revealed that the driver and Philip both had blood alcohol levels above the legal limit.

This is not the time to stand in judgment as both men have paid the ultimate price for their decisions that night and none of us are without faults.  However, I do believe that lessons can be learned so that another similar tragedy can be averted. Drinking and driving, driving with someone under the influence and not wearing seatbelts are decisions that one makes; each with high consequences.

If in some way, sharing the story of these two young men losing their lives before it was time with others prevents another life lost, then it's worth it and doesn't take anything away from who they were before this fateful wreck.  And for that reason, that is why I'm mentioning today.
