SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - We have all heard of the old saying "You can't judge a book by its cover." That statement is oh so true when it comes to 13-year-old Allie Lazarus who has managed to pack a lot in a very small package.

Allie may seem like your everyday, All-American, teenage girl but when you see her slim and slender frame you wouldn't in a million years guess what sport she excels in.

"They say, 'You're a power lifter and weight lifter?' Yea I do that too," Allie said.

At just 78 pounds, Allie is a Junior Olympic Gold Medalist in 7 different power and weight lifting events. She's done it all after picking up the sport just 5 months ago when her uncle suggested it as way for her to get stronger as a cheerleader. Now she's even surprised herself.

"Everyday I'm like how did I do this and how did I get to where I am today," she said.

Allie's mom, Misty Lazarus, said she has noticed a huge jump in Allie's confidence. "She's like 'Mom I got this', I'm like o.k. well yea you got this. She's like 'I'm going to rock this, it's no problem.'

From flipping tires, to pushing bobsleds, her mini muscles seem to make mountains move. When asked where she gets all her strength from, Allie responded, "I have no idea. I guess it's just adrenaline pumping or something like that."

Misty said, "I told her I said, 'Allie you are my biggest inspiration and you don't let anything stop you and yea you're small but you're like whatever I still got this.'

Allie has even gotten international attention for her accomplishments but what's most important to her is the inspiration she provides other young girls.

"I'm so grateful that I got to be one of those people that little girls, young girls look up to, like I want to be that one day. I'm still in shock that people are saying that about me."

As Allie accepted her trophy for being the Landers Dodge Chrysler Jeep Athlete of the Week, she said, "Thank you. I want to thank my coach John Crofton for helping me and giving me all this support and I thank my Mom and Dad for getting me started in weight lifting and power lifting."
